Global Product Manager, MCB & OVP

 

Position:          Global Product Manager, MCB & OVP

Department:    Marketing

Reports to:      Director of Marketing, North America

Classification: Exempt

 

Position Summary:  Responsible for the strategic and tactical global marketing of Weidmuller’s MCB and OVP products throughout the product life cycle.

 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Manage the product line life cycle including strategic planning to market launch; analyzing the product range and identifying new opportunities; and developing and delivering new business cases.
  • Conduct training globally for sales representatives that enhance their product knowledge and product specific selling techniques.
  • Develop product pricing and positioning strategies.
  • Generate product literature, marketing collateral, product promotions and advertising copy.
  • Work in the field with Sales Teams to uncover new sales opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Signaling & Protection Team in Germany as well as with Purchasing, Logistics and other global teams to deliver quick market entry.
  • Work closely with Weidmuller’s sales force, industry managers, manufacturer’s representatives and distributors to offer solutions to customer applications.
  • Conduct analysis on competition that includes features, benefits, pricing, advertising, promotion and support.
  • Conduct tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental and security regulations      (state/federal laws, ISO 9001, CFR 1910 OSHA), as well as Weidmuller policies and procedures.

 

Educational & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or industrial engineering
  • Previous experience in the Electronics or Automation Industries
  • Previous Product Marketing experience throughout life cycle

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of MCB and OVP products
  • Ability to travel 50% of time
  • Bilingual (preferred)
  • Professional and effective verbal and written communications including strong presentation skills
  • Global market knowledge

Regional Quality Manager

 

Position:           Regional Quality Manager

Reports to:       President, North America

Department:     Quality   

Classification:  Exempt

 

Position Summary: Responsible for leading Customer, Product and Manufacturing Quality Programs in North America in accordance with ISO 9001 standards. Additionally, this position will direct the activities of staff performing OSHA, Environmental and Safety programs.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through prompt resolution of quality issues in US, Canada and Mexico.
  • Lead quality initiatives across product categories throughout the product life cycle.
  • Provide root cause analysis for product/production issues and present resolution to prevent further issues.
  • Collaborate with appropriate parties to understand needs of key accounts and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Implement corporate management systems.
  • Oversee the management, implementation and coordination of the safety program to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, and financial losses.
  • Establish and implement strategy and short/long-term goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Monitor and evaluate program and project effectiveness.
  • Serve as a key resource and change agent for Lean/Continuous Improvement activities driving positive change.
  • Maintain ISO, OSHA and EPA compliance.
  • Maintain the NCR program to ensure quick resolution of customer complaints.
  • Oversee company calibration program.
  • Conduct tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental and security regulations (state/federal laws, ISO 9001, CFR 1910 OSHA) as well as Company policies and procedures.

 

Educational & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Previous experience administering ISO Quality programs (Auditor experience preferred)
  • Previous experience administering and leading Customer Quality programs
  • Previous experience conducting root cause analysis for product defects
  • Previous quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience in the electronics industry
  • Previous management experience
  • Global experience preferred

Automation Sales Engineer

 

Position:            Automation Sales Engineer

Department:      Field Sales

Reports to:        Regional Sales Manager

Classification:   Exempt

 

Position Summary:  Assist in the sales process by serving as the company’s expert on automation products and solutions.

 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Manage and develop new sales opportunities for PLC and automation products (IPC,IO,Safety).
  • Provide technical consulting for automation solutions.
  • Call on Engineering firms to drive specification position.
  • Identify customer requirements and draft conceptual automation solutions that are adapted to meet customer needs.
  • Provide field market intelligence such as competitive information, market trends.
  • Establish, measure and meet sales goals for the territory.
  • Implement marketing programs to further penetrate the market.
  • Report all sales activities to the Regional Sales Manager.
  • Design automation products including identification of cross selling opportunities.
  • Present solutions to customers.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.
  • Conduct tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental and security regulations (state/federal laws, ISO 9001, CFR 1910 OSHA), as well as Weidmuller policies and procedures.

 

Educational & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering or information technology
  • Previous experience in automation sales of complex products and solutions for machine building customers.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of Automation Products including real time automation technology including PLC, HMI, fieldbus technology, machine safety drives, IPC technology, PLC programming, IEC 61131, OPC UA and data base integration.
  • Professional and effective verbal and written communications including strong presentation skills
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office products
  • High degree of flexibility
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout assigned territory
