Electrical Design Engineer— Richmond, VA

 

Job Title:  Electrical Design Engineer

Job Summary

Designs printed wiring board and industrial control products and equipment. Works with customers to develop product and application specifications. Insures designs are in accordance with applicable codes and standards. Understands the business constraints and incorporates them into the design of the product.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develops electrical control products and equipment for industrial applications in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Develops electrical interface printed wiring board designs for the industrial control market.
  • Designs are in compliance with applicable building and industry codes and standards.
  • Designs wiring diagrams, layouts, bill of materials and other drawings as necessary for assembly and wiring of low voltage control equipment.
  • Designs drawings for systems based on written or verbal descriptions from customers or quotations.
  • Consults with customers, sales and department supervisor to resolve discrepancies in function of equipment requirements and to verify completeness and accuracy of design.
  • Works closely with all departments within the organization to ensure that the drawings convey the correct information and are error free.
  • Provides technical information concerning product application, wiring, troubleshooting and other related issues to customers and departments within the organization.
  • Develops and implements processes that will improve productivity and reduce costs in the overall manufacturing process.
  • Assists production department with implementation of new processes and quality assurance procedures.
  • Ensures thorough familiarity with and conducts tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, environmental and security regulations as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as directed or assigned by management.

 

Qualifications

  • Experience with design and layout of printed wiring boards, predominantly utilizing thru-hole technology. Knowledge of IPC standards a plus.
  • Thorough understanding of Programmable Logic Controls and their interface with field level devices.
  • Needs strong background in electrical/mechanical design and drafting with ability to read and create drawings.
  • Must be able to read, interpret, and use NEC, UL, CSA, standards and customer-supplied documentation.
  • Must be able to interpret documents such as electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision and capable of self-checking for completeness and accuracy of work produced.
  • A strong background in AutoCAD software and Microsoft Office programs is a must.
  • Must have and maintain an understanding of current technology in the Industrial Controls Industry as related to job responsibilities.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to contribute in design reviews.
  • Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Must have strong oral communication skills.
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills in order juggle several assignments at one time.

 

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred. Other technical degree and experience may be considered. Prior experience with Industrial control and interface products required.  Previous printed wiring board layout and design experience is a plus.

Job Summary

Timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders and effective warehouse operations in order to achieve team and company goals. 

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs all warehouse activities and additional tasks as assigned by the team supervisor, the Logistics Analyst and the team manager.
  • Completes daily cycle counts accurately.
  • Assists the Logistics Analyst to cycle count, to research and resolve inventory discrepancies, to perform inventory transfers and transactions daily and other tasks as assigned.

Receiving: 

  • Unpacks, sorts, counts, verifies and receives incoming product.
  • Moves and stores received goods on shelves, racks or floor locations.
  • Enters information on received products into the company system as required.
  • Operates forklift truck and other material handling equipment.

Shipping:

  • Completes all activities necessary to ship orders from start to finish.
  • Pulls and verifies orders using scanner guns from designated locations per the pick ticket.
  • Properly packs, ship confirms and ships packages using manifest systems.
  • Completes bill of lading and schedules pickup for truck shipments and other carriers as necessary.

Housekeeping:

  • Maintains a clean, organized, orderly, and safe warehouse and work area.
        • Inspects his/her assigned aisle daily and maintains a clean, safe, and orderly aisle.
        • Follows all work processes and completes all system transactions accurately.
        • Monitors and replenishes shipping supplies, cardboard, rail, etc. in packing areas.

We currently have an opening at our Markham headquarters for a motivated Marketing and Product Support Manager to join our team. As the Marketing and Product SupportManager you will support Weidmuller brand awareness, sales and market share growth by leading and managing the Marketing and Product Support team. Coordinate the service support link between Weidmuller innovation and customer satisfaction. Creatively applies and supports tools, services, processes and infrastructure to achieve the goal of excellent service and is also responsible for building the brand awareness and supporting industry segments, product families and regional activities.

 

Responsibilities     

  • Builds and manages the Marketing department (Product Marketing, Technical Support, product and market training, press relations, social media, electronic media, print media, mobile marketing, catalogs, collateral materials, and tradeshows/conventions).
  • Refines and implements the marketing and key product/program initiatives with specific focus on driving growth, brand awareness, and lead generation.
  • Reports to the Managing Director and collaborates with Distribution manager, RSMs, Controlling and Division Heads.
  • Engages with Division Heads to understand and evaluate competitive position with respect to new entrants.

Warehouse Team Lead — Markham, ON, Canada

 

Position Summary:

Weidmuller is a leading manufacturer of electronic and electrical connectivity solutions for the transmission of power, data and control signals in industrial environments. We currently have an opening at our Markham headquarters for a motivated Warehouse Team Lead to join our team.As the Warehouse Team Lead your responsibilities include assisting the Warehouse Manager with the flow of daily warehouse operations including incoming receiving and putting away stock, picking and packing outgoing orders, daily cycle counts, housekeeping, replenish stock as needed. Provides backup coverage for key roles during absence and vacation.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

Lead Hand

  • Supports Warehouse Manager as needed.
  • Trains new employees across all warehouse functions.
  • Assist with prioritizing daily receiving and outgoing orders.
  • Support Warehouse Manager as a backup with ISO and non-conformance reports.
  • Continuous improvement of efficiencies and productivity within the department.
  • Provide guidance to the Warehouse Team as needed in relation to the performance of job duties and assigned projects.

Receiving

  • Check incoming product against packing slips using RF scanner or computer.

Responsible for meeting the sales and profit goals in assigned region.  This includes the review, selection and development of the sales channel consisting of direct sales personnel, manufacturer representatives and channel partners.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Directs and controls the sales and support activities of all sales engineers, manufacturer representatives and channel partners within assigned region.

  2. By industry and product segment, develops an understanding of the region’s market size and potential opportunity for growth.

  3. Works closely with Industry Managers to develop and execute industry strategies.

  6. Manages the profitability and cost of sales within the region.
