Weidmüller Group Announces: stripax® tool anniversary – stripping precision since 1976.

Weidmüller stripax®: the original for 50 years. Legendary.

stripax tool with 50th anniversary callout
stripax® is the tool for precise work in panel building and electrical installation.

Since its introduction in 1976, stripax® has established itself as a true classic in electrical and connection technology. Five decades later, it is still the original – a tool that has helped generations of professionals in panel building, electrical installation and industrial manufacturing. Once again, for its 50th anniversary, stripax® is showing the world why it is considered legendary: precision, reliability, and convenience that sets new standards.

Tobias Sondermann, Head of Business Unit Workplace Solutions, emphasises: “stripax® is more than just a tool; it’s part of Weidmüller’s DNA. It has stood for quality, precision and trust since 1976. Today, stripax® is celebrating its 50th anniversary: a testament to the fact that great technology is timeless.”

Proven stripping technology for decades

With stripax®, electrical and connectivity company Weidmüller offers an automatic stripping tool proven for many years in professional applications. This trusted tool is specially designed for processing PVC-insulated conductors with cross-sections from 0.08 to 10 mm² and is used primarily in panel building and industrial environments.

Automatic self-adjustment for efficient working

One key feature of the tool is that the blade automatically adjusts to different conductor cross-sections and insulation thicknesses. This function eliminates the need for manual adjustment, reducing the time needed for preparation and the risk of operating errors. The stripping blade, which has 32 individual cutting elements, adapts ideally to a range of conductors, allowing damage-free processing of even the finest wires. The stripping length can be adjusted precisely and reproducibly using the integrated length stop. After stripping, the blades open automatically, leaving conductors optimally prepared for crimping.

Ergonomic design and durable mechanism

stripax® is designed for daily use in industrial environments. Thanks to its low weight of around 175 g and its compact design, stripax® is suitable for fatigue-free working, even over long periods of time. The robust mechanism ensures a long service life, even with high cycle frequencies in series applications.

Versatile applications and high process reliability

Typical applications include electrical installation, machine and plant engineering and automation technology. Thanks to its reliability, stripax® is particularly well-suited to repeatable precision work processes with different conductor cross-sections.

Integration and expansion options

stripax® is part of a comprehensive portfolio of tools for manual conductor processing and integrates seamlessly into existing workplaces. In addition to its proven stripax®, Weidmüller offers stripax® plus 2.5 – a tool that combines cutting, stripping and crimping in one tool.
