The Weidmüller Group was the target of a cyber attack in mid-July. We used our technical capabilities and shut down and isolated all systems as a precaution. In this way, we were able to carry out a precise analysis and also protect our customers, partners and employees. Thanks to the fast response time, we were able to keep the damage to a minimum. The most important internal and external communication channels as well as our SAP systems were not affected. In the meantime, almost all systems have been restored.
The cyber attack was not primarily directed against our production IT (SAP ERP) or the production facilities themselves. However, the attack itself has meant that some production processes could only be operated in a limited capacity. Naturally, supplying our customers has been our highest priority. Due to a controlled ramp-up of our production facilities as well as the excellent cooperation of our team, we were able to maintain or quickly regain our ability to deliver. We ask for your understanding that there may still be occasional delays in delivery.
Throughout the entire incident, we have worked closely with the responsible investigating authorities and continue to do so to this day. For investigative reasons, no further statements can be made about the details of the cyber attack.
Thank you for your understanding and support in this challenging situation.
