Wireless I/O

Wireless I/O, also known as radio telemetry, connect directly to sensor and control signals, and transmit the signal values by radio. The signals are either re-created as similar signals, or output as a data connection — Ethernet, Profibus, Modbus etc. Wireless I/O networks can be as simple as two units transferring a small number of signals from one point to another, or they can be complex data-acquisition networks with multiple “control” interfaces to external systems.

Weidmuller’ s innovative configuration technology combines the reliability of 400Mhz, 868Mhz & 900MHz, FHSS modulation with mesh architecture to automatically detect and route the most efficient path to the destination node.

The high power 1W receiver sensitivity combined with frequency hopping and IP-based addressing provides reliable, self-healing, encrypted communications up to 140kbps.

The 900MHz & 868MHz Unlicensed Frequency Hopping wireless transceiver supports over the-air Ethernet protocols which gives the WI-I/O-9-U3 the power and flexibility to perform reliably in sprawling harsh industrial environments.

Secure AES encryption, advanced IP filtering, multilevel authentication, user access and change event logging features provide the user with the tools to ensure the highest level of data integrity and protection against malicious attacks.

Flexible native Ethernet support provides solutions to connectivity challenges today and in the future. The WI-I/O-9-U3 also provides Ethernet and serial gateway support for industrial protocols including Modbus TCP/RTU and DNP3 I/O, MQTT +Sparkplug B. ProMesh™ operates reliably with the challenges of obstructed paths by using automatic path selection to allow the communications network to adapt to changes easily with redundancy.
