After downloading the WMC, launch the start page and choose one of the many possibilities to start a new project or continue working with existing ones.
By clicking on New project you can choose your required rail and start the configuration.
If you want to continue or change your existing projects select Open project and choose the desired configuration from your computer. You can also choose one of your latest configurations in the section Recent documents.
The left hand functions allow to easily switch between the start page, the E-CAD interfaces, settings for the user and the product catalog.
With the Fast Delivery Service you can choose between the different Weidmuller Fast Delivery Products like mounting rails or enclosures and their delivery times.
Depending on the components you use, you can either choose between a 5 Days Fast Delivery, a 10 Days Fast Delivery or an automatic Fast Offer.
The 5 Days* Fast Delivery option is the ideal solution for very demanding delivery schedules. You can choose from a selected product range in order to receive the highest delivery performance.
(*Delivery time can vary on your location.)
With the 10 Days* Fast Delivery option you can choose from a wide range of products with dependable availability.
(*Delivery time can vary on your location.)
If you have a long-term planning horizon, select the Fast Offer option. No restrictions are placed on the selection of components and you will receive quick price information for your individual configuration.
(Delivery time on request.)
In the section Select sub-project by root component you can choose between the root device for which you want to start the engineering process. Application assistants will guide you through.
See the different options below:
If you want to get an impression of possible configurations there are some template projects for mounting rails and enclosures. You can choose a template project from the list to get a short description of it. With the button New you create a new project based on the chosen template to view it in detail or modify it.
Instead of starting your configuration in the WMC you can also click on ECAD on the right side and choose to import your schematic from a common E-CAD systems.
The WMC supports E3.series from Zuken, Electric P8 from EPLAN as well as SEE Electrical from IGE+XAO.
For more information about the E-CAD interfaces see down below.
There are different wizards for rail mounted components, enclosures and heavy-duty connectors – usable even without detailed product knowledge.
Choose one of our countless assistants that will help you configure your mounting rail within a few clicks!
For instance, you can choose the number of terminals, blocks, connections or the overall product to start with. Choose the desired rail measurements, color or arrangements. Add cross-connectors, bridges or define the electrical power supply.
Choose your desired enclosure and add drilling, accessory and threading. View it from all sides and define the properties.
Choose your desired module type. Add further modules, including the number of digital inputs and preferred sensor connections. Check your product list and the power requirements.
Select and modify the housing of your heavy-duty connector to suit your needs.
Choose the contact inserts and find the right one by filtering by product type, number of poles, size, type of connection and even more.
Use the Omnimate 4.0 Wizard to modify your plug-in connector according to your needs. Choose the number of poles, adjust the pitch and voltage, choose the outgoing angle and add or remove a flange.
Download the engineering data including a data sheet, 3D model as well as EDA data and order the products directly.
Try the auto solve solution available in most of them or use them manually. Explore the different assistants and integrated functions below.
Place and edit labels and markers. Use the option to Automatically generate labels to create standard labels for each product on your mounting rail. Automatically adjust the font size and obtain the maximum font size per marker type.
Add wire end ferrules Automatically or manually edit the wires and wire end ferrules. Choose the color, conductor type, length and further properties of the wires.
View the list of Supply parts with information like article number or material short text and easily adjust the quantity.
Use the function Add wire connection to connect two cable inserts with a selectable wire. The WMC marks possible connection points in red, which you can easily connect with two mouse-clicks. Afterwards, you can select the properties of the cable, such as the color, diameter and length.
By selecting the Add cross-connectors function, the WMC marks possible spots to place cross-connectors with gray squares. Select the desired terminals you want to connect and choose an appropriate cross-connector from an (automatically suggested) article list.
Select the function Add busbar to add busbars to selected components. The WMC marks possible places with a red dot. After choosing two dots to connect, you can select a busbar to be used.
By clicking on Verify in the top bar the verify assistant opens. With a click on Verify the WMC examines your terminal rail(s) on missing electrical as well as non-electrical components or accessories. In addition, a check is also conducted of whether it is an electrically safe solution
If the WMC detects an error or a missing component, it is displayed and can be corrected either manually or automatically by clicking on Auto-Solve.
Download the project documentation for further use or submit an order request directly to Weidmuller.
By clicking on Bill of material you can download a csv-file including all the components of your configuration. This file can be uploaded to the Weidmuller eShop or to the website of your favorite wholesaler.
With a click on Request you can submit an order request directly via the WMC. Choose between different delivery options:
By clicking on File and Print project documentation, you can download (or print) the project documentation. This includes an assembly view, the article list and the option for the full documentation, which includes the information above, as well as all data sheets.
After downloading the documentation you can also import it into your favorite E-CAD system including the added information. (To find out more about the E-CAD Roundtrip see down below.)
Integrated assistants help you create your rail assembly!
Choose your desired rail and find products by description or part number. Mount components and add jumpers. Review your result from all angles – in 2D and 3D. Use the verification assistant to check if any essential components are missing. Place markers and label them as you like. Export your project and the documentation or request the delivery. Done!
Henry configures his individual terminal rails and gets an automatic offer. With the delivery promise he receives the rails within a few days.
By applying the Fast Delivery Service he significantly saves time and money for his assembly.
Select your needed Remote IO and start building your system. Add components like IO cards, wire inputs and outputs and select available options with a few simple clicks. Check the power supply and use the auto solve function to add more power modules where needed. Review your result from all angles – 2D and 3D – and export the documentation.
You like to use the WMC but require a product that Weidmuller is not offering?
No problem, simply add a placeholder. Enter the dimensions, mounting points, and product details and your configuration can continue!
Combine your favorite E-CAD system with the WMC and finalize your schematic efficiently. Receive a high-quality and detailed documentation for a seamless assembly. Order your configuration directly using the WMC or export it back to the E-CAD system.
The WMC currently supports EPLAN Electric P8, Zuken E3.series and IGE+XAO SEE Electrical.
Do you use EPLAN for electrical planning? Then import your project to the WMC and enrich it!
After importing the project via the 2D interface, the WMC automatically displays conflicts in the configuration. These can be corrected individually or automatically with the auto solve function. You can also add cables and markers as well as end plates or angles. Return your results to EPLAN including the added information and continue adjusting your project.
Do you use E3.series form Zuken for electrical planning? Import your project to the WMC and enrich it in no time!
Import your project from E3.series into the WMC using the import assistant. Use the verify assistant and fix detected errors manually or automatically with the auto solve function. Use the transfer back to E3.series. The changes are automatically applied and the project can be further edited in the E-CAD system.
